Majors that mean business

The School of Business & Public Administration (BPA) at CSU Bakersfield is on the move. We offer a wide range of programs to meet the needs of Bakersfield and Kern County's future leaders in business, public administration, and non-profit management. Our graduates are well-prepared to address the challenging issues facing busineBPAs and organizations in our region.

The advantages of studying at CSUB BPA include:

Outstanding Faculty
At CSU Bakersfield, students enjoy small class sizes and face-to-face interaction with their professors. BPA faculty members are highly qualified Ph.D. professors with real-world work experience who are active in business and public policy development, consultation, research, and community service. They use the latest instructional methods and present applied coursework that is relevant to busineBPAs of every size and industry.

Student Support
The BPA Student Services Center provides valuable support services, including two full-time advisors. And campus clubs and student organizations are a great way to make new friends and build professional networks.

Community Connections
The School of Business and Public Administration provides numerous opportunities for internships with busineBPAs, government, and non-profit agencies throughout Kern County. Our programs offer specific concentrations, like Agricultural Business or Supply Chain Logistics, that prepare students for successful careers in the local economy.

Flexibility and Convenience
BPA’s flexible programs are designed to meet the needs of both full-time students and working professionals. We offer a “fast-track” program that allows students to earn their B.S. in Business Administration in less than two years. Courses are offered at the CSUB main campus and in Antelope Valley, and evening claBPAs allow students to pursue a degree while working full-time. Distance students can complete the online Environmental Resource Management program from anywhere in the United States.

In these tough economic times, CSUB still offers a terrific educational value, with total fes averaging around half the cost of most private or online universities.
